Hi, I’m Emily.

I deeply believe that every person has wisdom and insights that are integral to their own healing process. I provide a safe, open, curious, and playful environment where my clients are free to explore the depths of human existence - the joy - and the suffering - so as to discover and rediscover what it truly means to feel connected and whole. I help my clients explore the broader systems that they are surrounded by, and encourage and guide my clients in self exploration. Together we create a space that honors personal learning. I prioritize slowing down and taking time to explore with my clients how their mind, body, and spirit can better work together to help them live more fulfilling lives. I tailor my work with each client based on how they show up in this life.

I have studied psychology, the human condition, and expanded states of consciousness for over 15 years. I earned my Master of Arts in psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, from Antioch University with a trauma informed addictions concentration, and focus on internalized oppression, and my Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Washington with a minor in Gender Women and Sexuality Studies. I have additional training through the EMDR Institute, Seattle Hakomi Education Network (I am a current level 2 student) and the Beckley Academy Psychedelic Assisted Therapy training. I am also in self study with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and hope to join a training in the future. I have made it my life's work to be a therapist, and I am profoundly grateful for each and every client that I have the opportunity to work with… I am so happy you are here!

My approach comes from a mindfulness, somatic, systemic, humanistic, and anti-oppression perspective. I integrate talk therapy, Hakomi, and EMDR in my general approach with both individuals and couples. I view the broader system we live in as holding important information, and am sensitive to identities in regards to age, race, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, class, spirituality, and religion. I have an awareness of legacy traumas such as colonization, patriarchy, individualism, and materialism, and how all of these identities and experiences impact the way we think and feel about ourselves and the world we live in. I also hold a safe space for individuals looking to therapeutically prepare for and integrate experiences with psychedelics, plant medicines, and other non ordinary states of consciousness. I find that weaving modalities builds skill in different areas and helps with accessing avenues of information that can be easily overlooked. I believe this kind information is foundational in any healing process. Avenues such as body, and energy awareness, as well as other subtle information that we experience based on our unique biology and way of experiencing reality, takes psychotherapy from what has traditionally been a cognitive process, into the depths of our body and subconscious, where we can reconnect with our intuitive healing abilities.

I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. I am of mixed European, Scandinavian, and Celtic background, and am on a lifelong journey of reconnecting to my unique ancestral heritage, culture, and spirituality. I grew up within the lush and misty Redwood forest, and along the wild and pristine Pacific Ocean beaches of Northern California. I live with my husband and our daughter, and our two cats and two dogs. I love spending time in nature, being near water, making spontaneous music, art as life, moving my body, and spending time with my dear ones. I create spaces, food, interactions, and day to day activities with attention to the art form within all expressions. This shows up in interior design, cooking, arranging, doing, and being, in a mindful and intentional way. My favorite beverage is warm water, and my favorite meal is lasagna. I am a student of life, and committed to a practice of lifelong healing and growth.

I have extensive experience with meditation, and have taken several courses and studied in the tradition of Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka whose teacher was Sayagyi U Ba Khin. I have maintained a personal practice for nearly a decade.

I have practiced yoga for 20 years. I am currently studying and practicing Sivinanda yoga in the tradition of Adi Sankaracharya, and have plans to receive teacher training to become a certified Sivinanda yoga instructor in the future.

Thanks for taking a look at my bio! If you any questions, or think you and I might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out.
